As a reminder, in order to activate the subtitles of a video published on YouTube, click on the "Settings" icon represented by a gear (bottom right) then on "Subtitles". In the window that opens, choose between French and English.

Le sous-titrage qui accompagne la vidéo Belle Tunisie (39-2) traite de la période de l'histoire de Tunisie débutant avec l'établissement du protectorat français le 12 mai 1881 et la forte résistance qu'il a rencontrée notamment dans les régions de Kairouan et Sfax, en passant par la signature des conventions de La Marsa du 8 juin 1883 venues renforcer le régime du protectorat en accordant à la France le droit d'intervenir dans les affaires internes de la Tunisie, la France représentant dès lors la Tunisie sur la scène internationale, et ne tardant pas à abuser de ses droits et prérogatives de protecteur pour exploiter le pays comme une colonie, en contraignant le bey à abandonner la quasi-totalité de ses pouvoirs au résident général.
